Medical Surgical Nurse

Overview

Travel/contract role in Tyler, Texas
Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00–19:00
13-week contract
Medical-surgical/telemetry unit
Patient ratio: 1:6
Weekends: half of scheduled shifts

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Texas
Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
NIHSS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Experience with Epic

Preferred

Travel experience preferred

Unit Details

19 rooms
Maximum census of 20 patients
Cares for young adults through geriatrics
Broad range of care needs

Additional Requirements

Driver’s license or state ID
Education verification
7-year background check
7-year work history verification
Physical exam within 12 months of start
Fit test within 1 year of start
Negative TB screening within 1 year of start
Tdap within 10 years of start
Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
Clear headshot for badge
Unit-specific skills checklist
