Contract Length: 18 weeks

Role Overview

Adult-to-geriatric cardiac telemetry RN role in an overflow IMCU setting with a 32-bed unit and typical 1:5–6 ratio.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Georgia
• Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Telemetry experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with cardiac or critical care drips
• Experience with titratable or cardiac IV medications

Clinical Experience / Unit Needs

• Arrhythmia management
• Cardioversion
• Cardiac CHF
• Chest pain
• Renal
• Pulmonary cases, including COPD and pulmonary edema
• PE and DVT
• Stable A-Fib, SVT, and bradycardia
• Surgical cases including cholecystectomy, appendectomy, chest tubes, and biliary drains
• Occasional vascular patients
• Post cardiac cath
• TR bands
• DKA
• Occasional ortho or CVA overflow
• Basic arrhythmia knowledge

Additional Details

• Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed
• Call is rare; 2-hour response time
• Travelers typically do not manage Precedex
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per contract
• Every other weekend is typical
• One major holiday per assignment period must be worked; if two fall during the assignment, both must be worked; if three fall during the assignment, two must be worked
• Locals accepted at the same rate
