Job Opportunity: RN Emergency Room (Travel)

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work schedule: Every Other Week (EOW), Every Other Holiday (EOH)
• Experience required:

  • Minimum 3 years of specialty experience and previous travel experience, or
  • More than 5 years of experience in a large Emergency Department (ED) with no travel experience
• EPIC electronic health record system experience required
• May need to float onsite within skill set or to other sites within 40 miles if needed

Required Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• PALS (AHA)
• TNCC (renewed every 4 years)
• NIH Certification (Group A yearly, Group B-F every 2 years)
• Ascension Epic Test-Out (passing score required)
• Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
• Current nursing license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
• License/Certificate Verification
• Driver’s License/State ID (must be valid and match address requirements)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
• Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
• Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31), exemptions accepted with mask requirement
• Varicella: Proof of immunity or two doses of vaccine (no declinations accepted)
• Tdap: Valid within 10 years, no declinations accepted
• Positive PPD or Negative Chest X-Ray and Annual TB Questionnaire (updated annually)
• 2 Step PPD OR IGRA within required timeframes
• Fit Test: Required annually, preferred prior to start
• Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen: Completed within 30 days prior to start and updated annually
• Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually

Additional Requirements

• Ascension Color Vision test (updated every 3 years)
• Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics; completed within a year and updated yearly)
• Ascension MOAB (Management of Assaultive Behavior) certification
• Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation
• Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding
• Ascension Nova StatStrip training
• Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical, updated annually)
• Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry (within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)
• Employment verifications and education verifications (within 90 days prior to start)
• Ascension Confirmation of Assignment documentation
• Ascension EPLS check (within 90 days prior to start)
• Ascension Badge Photo (professional headshot with white or blue background)

Experience Requirements Summary

• Specialty Experience: Minimum 3 years with prior travel experience OR more than 5 years in a large ED without travel experience
• Prior Travel Experience: Required if 3 years specialty experience is met; otherwise, 5+ years ED experience without travel experience is acceptable

Notes

• Must be able to float to other sites within 40 miles if needed
• All certifications and verifications must be current and compliant with Ascension Health policies
• Compliance with all onboarding and credentialing requirements is mandatory prior to assignment start

This position is ideal for experienced Emergency Room RNs who meet the certification and health requirements and are comfortable working in a travel capacity with potential floating responsibilities.
