Job Details

  • Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (Night Shift)
  • Start Date Requirement: Must start on or before June 8th
  • Holiday Commitment: Required to work both July 4th and Labor Day

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Kansas
  • Minimum of 1 year of Medical/Surgical nursing experience within the last year
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • MOAB Moderate Risk De-Escalation Training
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

  • Professional Documentation:

    • Resume/Profile
    • Signed Assignment Agreement (offer letter and confirmations)
    • Criminal Background Check (including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, 7-year county and employment search)
    • EPLS check within 90 days of start
    • Employment Verification for past 7 years
    • Education Verification relevant to clinical work (within 90 days of start)
    • Confirmation of Assignment (agency letterhead with start/end dates)
    • Driver’s License or State ID (valid, matching address requirements)
    • Badge Photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations)
    • Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (completed onsite)
    • Education Attestation (completion of pre-hire 6-hour module)
    • Nova StatStrip pre-hire modules for non-allied positions
  • Health & Immunizations:

    • Ascension Color Vision test (completed prior to start, updated every 3 years)
    • MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted
    • Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by provider; no declinations accepted
    • Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted
    • Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
    • Influenza Vaccine: Optional; if declined, mask required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)
    • 2-Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot): Required with specific timing; TB questionnaire updated annually
    • Positive PPD requires negative chest X-ray within 1 year and TB questionnaire
    • Fit Test: Required for all travelers; preferred before start, can be done onsite; updated annually
    • Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
    • 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually; retesting required if break in service > 90 days
  • Competency & Testing:

    • Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, NPSG topics) completed within a year, updated every 3 years; minimum 80% passing score, max 2 attempts
    • NIH Certification (Group A yearly, Groups B-F every 2 years)
    • Ascension EKG Exam (passing score of 80%, max 2 attempts, updated every 3 years)
    • Cerner Test-Out and Training Checklist with signed attestation
    • Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical only, completed within one year, updated annually)
    • MOAB Moderate Risk De-Escalation Training

Additional Notes

  • Optional unit-specific checklist may be required by unit leader within one week of start
  • Extensions require updated documentation as specified
  • All documentation must be current and compliant with timelines to ensure clearance for assignment
