Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Hagerstown, Maryland
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 18:30–7:00)
Hours per Week: 36
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Details

• Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (LDRP) unit with 32 beds
• EPIC electronic health record system experience required
• Opportunity to work postpartum (PP) and mother-baby (MB) units as well
• OB surgical recovery experience (C-section) highly preferred
• Call hours typically 16–20 hours over a 6-week schedule; some staff opt to pick up extra weekend and weekday shifts instead of call

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Maryland
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
• Experience with Labor and Delivery nursing
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Copy of valid driver’s license/state ID matching license state
• Proof of E-Verify or attestation
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, SS trace, sex offender registry, and federal exclusions (updated annually)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start date
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start date (must be updated annually)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
• Negative TB test (Qgold, Tspot, or True 2-Step PPD) within 1 year; positive results require chest x-ray and TB questionnaire updated annually
• Immunization or positive titer documentation for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (vaccination, positive titer, or declination)
• Seasonal flu vaccination required (no declinations accepted) with deadline prior to contract start
• NIH Stroke Certification required for all units except Pediatrics, OB, and Labor & Delivery (not required for this role)
• Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable

Additional Notes

• Local candidates are not accepted for this travel contract
• Two clinical references required
• Performance evaluation required if previously worked with the employer for over one year
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgment or HIPAA form required for subcontractors
• Fingerprinting required only for school placements (not applicable here)
