Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract
Location: Lexington, Kentucky
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Schedule: Four 10-hour day shifts per week (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
- Call Requirements:
- 1 late call per week (5:30 PM - 7:30 PM)
- 1 overnight call shift per week (5:30 PM - 7:00 AM)
- 1-2 call weekends per 6-week schedule (Friday 5:30 PM - Monday 7:00 AM)
- Preferred Experience: Philips Single and Bi-Plane Angiography systems
- Required Systems: Epic EHR, McKesson
- Local travelers within 75 miles are not accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Kentucky
- Minimum of 1 year of recent Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
- Current certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Certification (NIHSS)
- Experience with Epic EHR system
- Experience with McKesson system
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Background checks including county and national criminal, sex offender, FACIS III, education verification, and others must be current (within 1 year) and updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG exclusions checks required within 30 days of start and updated annually
- Education verification or signed official transcript required
- Employment verification covering 7 years required, with any gaps over 30 days explained
- Two supervisor references required, verified within 6 months of start
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, or PA, confirming good health and ability to perform job duties
- Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually (acceptable masks include Halyard Regular/small, 3M N95 models)
- Immunizations and/or titers required with annual updates:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray with annual renewal for positives
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines; booster if equivocal/negative)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination renewed annually)
- Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines; booster if equivocal/negative)
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, updated annually (specific drug panels required; rapid drug screens not accepted)
- COVID vaccination series or approved medical/religious exemption required; booster preferred but not mandatory
- Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required year-round with exemptions accepted and mask-wearing required if exempt
Competency and Skills Requirements
- Must complete and maintain current competency exams and skills checklists annually, including but not limited to:
- Unit-specific competency exams via Relias (80% passing score)
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam
- Color blindness testing
- RN Math Ability competency exam (if applicable)
- Conscious Sedation competency exam (if applicable)
- Pass/Fail EKG/Medication test required for cath lab and related units; two attempts allowed before cancellation
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Blue Card required (can be completed onsite)
Additional Facility-Specific Requirements
- Must review and sign non-clinical policies prior to start, including Acceptable Use Policy, Confidentiality Agreement, Electronic Communications Policy, and Password Policy
- Annual EKG competency certification completed onsite required for candidates whose unit requires prestart EKG exam

- Candidates must renew all expiring documents prior to clearance if they expire during the assignment
