Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – MS/Telemetry Night Shift

Shift Details

• Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Weekend requirement: 2 shifts every other weekend (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday depending on rotation)

Unit & Patient Ratio

• Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in the specialty
• First-time travel nurses accepted
• Prior travel experience not required

Licensure & Certifications

• Active Registered Nurse license for Missouri (pending licenses accepted)
• BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) required
• NIH Stroke Certification required (must be updated annually)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) not required for this unit
• Other certifications may be required based on unit specifics (refer to unit descriptions for details)

Job Responsibilities & Expectations

• Float within scope to other telemetry units as needed
• No on-call requirement
• No block scheduling accommodations
• Local radius rule: candidates living within 75 miles are not accepted

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued ID required (e.g., driver’s license)
• Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide and nationwide searches
• Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Education verification of highest nursing degree required before start
• Missouri-specific background checks including Highway Patrol and Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR) as applicable
• Drug testing within 1 year of start, including a comprehensive panel (amphetamines, benzodiazepines, cocaine, opiates, etc.)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask testing (N95 respirators) required and must be renewed annually
• Immunizations and/or titers required for:

  • TB (2 negative PPDs or equivalent test within 1 year)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (positive titer, vaccination, or medical exemption)
  • Tdap vaccine or declination (expires every 10 years)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season (Sept 30 – Apr 1)
• HIPAA acknowledgement, confidentiality form, hand hygiene, dress code, and fingernail policies must be reviewed and signed prior to start
• Regulatory compliance education and facility orientation modules must be completed annually via online training platform
• Badge photo required (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months of start)

Additional Requirements

• Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists required annually
• Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)
• Employment application must be submitted and uploaded for facility review

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
• Minimum of 1 year of telemetry nursing experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
