Registered Nurse - Step Down Unit (Telemetry)
Location: Fountain Valley, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)

Unit & Specialty Details
- Progressive Telemetry Unit (Step Down skillset)
- Requires experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Telemetry
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU), with experience within the last year
- Telemetry experience
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification or competency
Background & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Criminal background check within 1 year, updated annually, including:
- 7-year search
- Statewide, nationwide, sex offender, social security trace, and federal searches
- No open cases or DUI within last 5 years allowed
- Proof of education (diploma or transcript)
- Two professional references within 1 year from leadership (e.g., Department Manager, Supervisor, Charge Nurse)
- Employment application showing at least 1 of last 2 years in specialty at a US facility
- Signed confidentiality agreement within 72 hours of signing offer
- Signed unit-specific job description prior to start
- Signed orientation acknowledgment and skills self-assessment (for RNs)
- Signed acknowledgment of workplace violence prevention and sexual harassment policies
- Signed acknowledgment of Joint Commission readiness, physician rounding updates, and patient safety goals
- Pyxis agreement (due 5 business days before orientation) for RNs
- Completion of infection control/bloodborne pathogens exam with minimum 80% score
Orientation & Testing
- Orientation modules completed onsite or at home after NetID activation; must be completed before starting on floor
- Medication/Calculation exam and Arrhythmia Recognition Assessment (EKG exam) during orientation
- Infection Control/Bloodborne Pathogens exam required
- Optional CPI Blue Card training onsite if not already obtained
