X-Ray Tech (Radiology / Cardiology) - Travel/Contract
Location: Knoxville, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 5/2 split schedule (5 days on, 2 off, 2 on, 5 off, repeating)
Guaranteed Hours: 80 hours biweekly
Start Date: ASAP
Job Description
- Work in a large Level I trauma center with high volume, including extensive OR and fluoroscopy experience required.
- Float within scope to various areas: Emergency Department (ED), Inpatient (IP), Outpatient (OP), Operating Room (OR), and portable imaging.
- Weekend work is required, including every other weekend on the 5/2 split schedule.
- Travel pairs are allowed but cannot request the same schedule.
- Local candidates within a 25-mile radius are accepted.
- No on-call duties.
- No holiday weeks; time off requests (RTO) must be submitted in advance, preferably during the interview.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of Radiology Technologist experience within the last year.
- ARRT Certification required.
- Experience as an X-Ray Technician.
- Radiology Technologist experience mandatory.
Certifications & Licenses
- ARRT Certification (mandatory)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only (required for ICU, OR, ED, PCU, Labor & Delivery)
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS for ER, NRP for Labor & Delivery, TNCC as applicable)
- State license primary source verification required
- NURSYS verification required for RNs
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Proof of I9 or attestation
- Government-issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service)
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, education verification
- Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen with alcohol test within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Physical exam within last 12 months (not required annually)
- Immunizations and titers required or declination forms as applicable:
- TDAP
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella
- Hepatitis B (series or positive titer; declinations accepted only under specific circumstances)
- Varicella
- Flu vaccine required annually (Oct 1 - Mar 31) or approved exemption
- Hepatitis A (for select units)
- TB testing: QGOLD or Tspot within 3 months or 2 PPDs as specified; TB questionnaire annually
- Fit testing for respiratory protection required
- Facility-specific photo for badge (recent, plain background, shoulders up, no filters)
- References: 2 professional references within 2 years required for travel positions
- Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable to specialty and unit
Additional Notes
- No travel experience requirement explicitly stated, but first-time travelers are not accepted.
- Must be able to accommodate block scheduling.
