Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Jackson, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse with at least 2 years of experience to join a healthcare facility in California on a travel/contract basis.

Requirements

Licensure & Certifications

Valid California RN license
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA or ARC)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification (AHA or ARC)

Experience

Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required

Background Checks & Verifications

7-year background check required within 6 months of start, including:
- Social Security trace with all aliases
- County searches for last 7 years of locations lived/worked/schooled
- Nationwide sex offender search within 90 days of start
- Education verification (highest level achieved)
- FACIS Level 3 screening within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks, updated annually
- Motor Vehicle Report if applicable (for driving positions)
Transcript/Diploma verification as needed
State-specific Medi-Cal Suspended and Ineligible Provider List search if FACIS III cannot be run

Health & Immunization Requirements

Physical exam within 1 year of start (must indicate cleared for work)
Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (specific mask types accepted)
Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within 10 years or lifetime TDAP with booster
Negative TB test (QGold, TSPOT, or PPD) within 90 days of start, renewed annually
Immunity or vaccination for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (series or signed declination)
- Varicella
Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per CA law)
Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30)

Competency Exams & Skills

Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
Unit-specific competency exams (e.g., Telemetry for ICU nurses)
Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam may be required for some units

Documentation & Compliance

Full 7 years of work history with no gaps in employment
Employment verification for up to 7 years, with explanations for gaps over 30 days
References: 2 professional references for clinical/allied/per diem acute care; 1 for per diem non-acute care
