Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Travel/Contract Position

Job Details

  • 10-hour shifts between 6 AM and 7 PM
  • Weekends as needed
  • May require staying until last patient is cared for
  • Call may be required (no call on holidays)
  • Floating as needed

• Unit Info:

  • Invasive Cardiology unit with 4 Cardiac Catheterization Labs and 2 Electrophysiology labs
  • 23 prep/recovery bays
  • Performs over 6,000 procedures annually including:

    • Complex coronary procedures
    • Ventricular assist device (VAD)/ECMO
    • Structural heart procedures (TAVR, left atrial appendage occlusion, PFO/ASD closure, mitral valve clipping)
    • Complex atrial and ventricular ablations
    • Pacemaker/ICD implant & explant
    • Cardioversion
    • Pulmonary artery pressure sensor implantation
    • Peripheral intervention and pulmonary embolectomy

Experience & Certifications

• Minimum Specialty Experience: 2 years
• Certifications Required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Other Requirements:

  • EPIC experience required

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

Background Checks & Verifications

• 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
• HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
• Pennsylvania FBI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; candidate may start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days
• Education verification of highest degree/diploma/transcripts
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search (PA Childline) required within 5 years; candidate may start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days
• Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search required within 1 year and must be finalized prior to start

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
• Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days; PPD not accepted
• Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Vaccines (2 doses) or positive titer required; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal
• Hepatitis B: Positive titer or full vaccine series (3 doses) plus declination form if applicable
• Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal
• Flu vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption required during flu season (declinations not accepted)
• COVID-19 vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption or declination accepted
• Drug testing: Negative 9-panel within 1 year (Aya requirement only, not required by facility)
• Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year, renewed annually

Competency & Skills

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (pass/fail) required for all RNs except OR and Home Health
• Skills checklist required annually
• Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing required for RNs (except OR and Home Health)

• Two professional references within 3 years
• Most recent resume or employment application
• Completion of facility-specific documents including:

  • Medical statement of ability to work
  • Commitment to health & wellness

  • I9 attestation and documentation attestation (agency completed)
• Completion of Learning Management System (LMS) modules prior to start (for RNs and CNAs)
• New hire orientation completed by end of first day

Summary

This is a 13-week travel contract position in invasive cardiology requiring a minimum of 2 years of specialty experience, ACLS and BLS certifications, and EPIC experience. The role involves 10-hour shifts with weekend and possible call requirements. The unit performs advanced cardiac procedures in a tobacco and fragrance-free environment. Comprehensive background checks, health screenings, immunizations, and competency exams are mandatory prior to or shortly after start. Candidates must complete facility-specific onboarding and training modules.
