Travel/Contract Registered Nurse (MS/Tele) - Kingsport, Tennessee

• Schedule: 36/36 (36 hours on, 36 hours off)
• Work Pattern: Every other weekend, no call
• Floating: Required to float to other units as needed

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Orientation & Training

• General orientation begins on Sundays (online CBLs)
• 16 hours of non-billable orientation required
• Hospital may cancel or call off one shift biweekly without penalty due to census changes
• Additional overtime shifts may be flexed as needed

Additional Responsibilities

• Participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical care duties

Location & Housing

• Traveler must live at least 100 miles from the facility

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background check within 30 days of start (covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Education verification required
• Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry check if licensed or working in Tennessee
• Primary source verification of state license (NURSYS verification required)
• Photo for badge within 48 hours of contract signing
• Completion of facility-specific forms including dress code, smoking policy, influenza policy, and exposure statements
• Respirator medical evaluation questionnaire and clearance forms (time sensitive)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Respiratory fit mask testing completed onsite
• Immunizations and titers required or documentation of immunity for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
  • TB screening (2 PPDs within last 12 months or equivalent)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Hepatitis B (series, titer, or declination)
  • Varicella
• Drug screening (standard 9 panel) within 14 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season

Additional Notes

• Candidate must be prepared for a flexible schedule with potential shift changes based on hospital census
• Commitment to compliance with all facility-specific policies and documentation deadlines is mandatory
