Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

Start Dates: March 2 or March 16
Schedule: No block schedule; must be flexible
RTO (Return to Office): 5 days or less

Experience Requirements

Minimum Specialty Experience: 3+ years in Labor and Delivery (highest stated requirement)
Skills/Experience Needed:
- Experience with Magnesium Drips
- Experience with C Sections
- Ability to float to Post-Partum unit as needed
EPIC experience required

Certifications Required

ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA certified (RQI not accepted)
BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA certified (RQI not accepted)
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - Required for Mother-Baby and L&D RNs (AHA certified; RQI generally not accepted)
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - Check unit description if required
State Nursing License (copy preferred)
IV Certification (will be completed onsite for RNs working in IV Therapy)

Competencies Required

Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
Competency Exam (must score 85% or higher)
Patient Restraints Competency Exam (required for all except students)
Core Part I, II, III (annual, must score 85% or higher)
OSHA Mandatory Training (annual, must score 85% or higher)
IV Therapy / Infusion Exam (for RNs working in Infusion/IV Therapy)

Health and Background Requirements

Government issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
Social Security Number verification (no actual card needed)
Background Check covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including SSN trace, statewide, federal, nationwide, sex offender, and international if applicable
Physical Exam within 1 year of start
Immunizations and Titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (highly preferred or declination)
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 1 year (QGold, T-SPOT, or 2 PPDs)
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella titers or vaccines (boosters required if negative/equivocal)
- Hepatitis B titer, proof of series, or facility-specific declination
Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
Flu Seasonal Vaccination or Facility-Specific Declination (required year-round)

Additional Requirements

No less than two satisfactory references from previous employers within the last year, including evaluation of clinical competency and reliability (references must be from manager, supervisor, or charge RN)
Copy of employment application required
Washington State-specific background checks (WSP/WATCH and WA Courts Search)

Facility-Specific Notes

Candidates will be assigned modules to complete after orientation; must be completed ASAP or risk removal from schedule

CMS Fraud, Waste, and Abuse (FWA) Training required annually
