Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Ortho/Medical Surgical) - Travel/Contract
Location: Pocatello, Idaho
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: Nights, 36 or 48 hour option
Job Description
- Provide specialized care to patients with musculoskeletal issues, including those recovering from orthopedic surgeries or injuries.
- Manage chronic conditions and educate patients and families on care and prevention.
- Patient Ratios: 1:5
- Number of Rooms/Beds: 10
- Charting system: Epic (experience required)
- 100 mile radius rule in effect
Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of specialty experience as a Registered Nurse in Ortho/Medical Surgical.
- Prior travel experience not required.
Certifications (Required)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Certification (as applicable)
Licensure
- Valid state nursing license with primary source verification (NURSYS verification required).
Compliance & Documentation
- I9 verification required.
- Driver’s License/State ID required.
- E-Verify required.
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually.
- Education verification required (transcript or diploma accepted as placeholder if needed).
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start.
- Physical exam within 12 months of start.
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, must be renewed annually.
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)
Additional Requirements
- Unit-specific skills checklist required annually.
- Work history verification for the past 7 years.
- Completion of employment application/resume.
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable.
- Color blind testing required.
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement.
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB), PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, CPI certifications as applicable.
Notes
- This is a travel/contract position with a 13-week duration.
- Night shift with options for 36 or 48 hours.
- Epic charting experience is mandatory.
- Prior travel experience is not required for this role.
