Oncology RN

Job Overview

  • Travel/contract RN position in Saint Louis, Missouri
  • Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00–19:30
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Patient ratios: 1:4–5; 1:3 for BMT
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Floating required within the service line
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call
  • No local candidates within 75 miles
  • Pending license accepted
  • Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks
  • Start date: 3–4 weeks out, per compliance tier

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Missouri
  • Oncology experience within the last year
  • 1 year of oncology experience
  • 1 year of Registered Nurse experience
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association

Unit Details

  • Medical oncology and BMT patient population
  • Common care includes IV starts, chemotherapy administration, trach care, port and central line access, and stem cell transplantation
  • No vents
  • Chemotherapy administration/infusion experience is not required
  • BMT experience is not required unless already experienced

Compliance Notes

  • Government-issued ID required
  • Criminal background check required within 6 months of start
  • Education verification required
  • Employment application required
  • Two professional references required
  • Unit-specific skills checklist required within 1 year of start
  • Physical exam required within 1 year of start
  • Fit mask required
  • Tdap required or declination
  • TB screening required
  • Flu vaccination or exemption required during flu season
  • Drug testing required within 1 year of start and must remain valid through the assignment
  • HIPAA acknowledgement, latex allergy questionnaire, confidentiality form, regulatory compliance education, hepatitis B declination, SSN/DOB confirmation, hand hygiene policy, fingernail policy, and dress code policy must be completed before start
  • Orientation modules required for RNs
  • Vehicle registration required for day shifts

Cons

Just parking if you work dayshift have to take a shuttle to hospital and park far in a parking lot. Nightshift you can park in the garage.
