Job Overview

- Weekly hours: 36
- Contract length: 18 weeks

Schedule and Work Conditions
- Block scheduling requests may be approved based on unit need
- Every other weekend required
- Must work 2 of 3 holiday bundles
- Must be able to sustain being on feet for 80% of the shift
- Smoke-free facility with no designated smoking areas
- No local candidates within 100 miles
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Wound Care (1 year of experience)
- Wound Care experience within the last year
- Correctional experience
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- MOAB - Management of Aggressive Behavior
Clinical Skills / Responsibilities
- Provide routine and emergency healthcare to patients
- Conduct health assessments and triage new patients
- Make referrals to providers, detoxification, dental, and mental health professionals
- Conduct detox rounds per protocol
- Phlebotomy
- Starting IVs
- High-flow nasal cannula
- Nasal cannula
- Non-invasive airway management
- Oral suctioning
- Oxygen face masks
- Portable oxygen tank
- Isolation precautions
Additional Notes
- First-time travelers are accepted, with prior experience preferred
- Pending license accepted
- Requests for time off greater than 7 days need approval
- Cerner charting
