Registered Nurse – MS/Telemetry

Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Unit requires Telemetry skills (MS/Telemetry).
  • Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:30–07:00).
  • Weekend requirement: Every other weekend.
  • Holiday requirement: Must work holidays.
  • No on-call requirements.
  • Patient population includes gender affirmation surgery patients; comfort with this population preferred but not required.
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5 or 1:6.
  • Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity.
  • Scrubs not provided; uniform color: Navy Blue.
  • Cerner documentation experience preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, including experience within the last year.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
  • Sterile Processing Tech (SPT) certification.
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Criminal background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years.
  • I9/E-Verify attestation required.
  • Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana).
  • Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease.
  • Immunizations and health documentation:
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year.
    • Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred.
    • Documentation of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella.
    • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination.
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season.
  • N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start, updated annually (client may complete onsite if needed).
  • Completion of facility-specific modules (SITELS) prior to start.
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam and Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required within 3 years, with minimum passing scores.
  • Color blind testing required (online or in-person).

Additional Information

  • Must have a valid driver’s license if driving is an essential job function.
  • No on-call duties.
  • Must be comfortable working night shifts and floating to other units as needed.
  • Candidate remediation available for EKG exam if needed.
  • Facility requires photo for badge with specific guidelines (clear, centered, no glare, solid background).

This position is ideal for experienced RNs with telemetry skills seeking a night shift travel assignment in Maryland. Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory if documentation and clinical skills are strong.

I do not have anything negative other than you need to fight with sone to all9w you gain some admission, emergency and critical patient stabilisation experience since they invade such patients which may leave you hanging while the resuscitation happens.
