Job Opportunity: Oncology Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Newport News, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Job Description
- Work on an oncology medical-surgical unit.
- Chemotherapy certification is not required.
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system is required.
- Local candidates are allowed at the same rate.
Required Qualifications
- Valid, current Registered Nurse (RN) license for Virginia.
- Government-issued photo ID required.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA, ARC, Military, or American Safety & Health Institute; online CPR not accepted).
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on unit specifics—verify with program management if unclear.
- Stroke education CEUs required annually, with hours depending on unit type (6 hours for medical-surgical units).
- NIH Stroke Certification required annually for inpatient RNs (not required for OR or PICC).
- Must complete medication/pharmacology competency exam and other competency exams as applicable within one year of start date.
- Pass/fail testing (e.g., EKG/medication) will be administered during orientation.
