Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse

Location: York, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work schedule: Day shifts, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
• Special scheduling requests and blocked scheduling are not approved; must work as needed by the unit
• Call requirements: 2-3 calls within a 6-week period with a 30-minute response time
• Weekend shifts: 3-4 weekends within a 6-week period (can be day, evening, or night shifts)
• Holidays: As needed, any shift
• Floating: As needed
• Must be able to function independently in multiple specialties including Robotics, Orthopedics, General Surgery, Gynecology, Urology, Bariatrics, ENT, Plastics, Vascular, Thoracic (excluding cardiac/open heart), and Trauma
• Prefer RNs who can scrub and circulate in the OR
• Must be proficient with the DaVinci Xi robotic system; familiarity with DaVinci DV5 is a plus
• Robotic experience must be relevant to general, gyn, thoracic, and urology specialties only (ortho/neuro robotic experience not applicable)
• May care for COVID-19 patients
• Facility is tobacco and fragrance free

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
• Minimum 3 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including OR experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience working with Level 1 and Level 2 Trauma patients
• Previous travel nursing experience
• Ability to function independently with the DaVinci Xi robotic system
• Experience in Orthopedics, Bariatrics, OB/GYN, Urology, ENT Surgery, Plastic Surgery, and Vascular Surgery

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and Pennsylvania-specific PATCH search
• Pennsylvania FBI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; candidate may start with results pending but must have results on file within 45 days
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse (Childline) search required 3 business days prior to start and renewed every 5 years
• Education verification of highest degree/diploma/transcripts
• Negative 9-panel drug test within 1 year (for agency use only)
• Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NP
• Fit testing for approved mask types within 1 year, updated annually
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • TDAP within 10 years
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 doses vaccine or positive titer with boosters as needed
  • Varicella: 2 doses vaccine or positive titer with boosters as needed
  • Hepatitis B: Full vaccine series or positive titer preferred; declination form required for all candidates
  • Flu vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption during flu season (declinations not accepted)
  • COVID-19 vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption/declination
• References: 2 professional references within last 3 years
• Recent resume or employment application required
• Annual skills checklist
• Completion of facility-specific learning modules and new hire orientation by first day
• Clear, professional passport-style photo for badge

Additional Notes

• Response to call must be within 30 minutes
• Maximum return to office (RTO) time is 7 days
• Must review and sign facility-specific documents including Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, Commitment to Health & Wellness, and Non-Employee Affidavit
• Must comply with facility’s tobacco and fragrance-free policy
