• 12-hour evening or night shifts

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
• 2 years of emergency department experience
• ACLS
• BLS
• PALS

Job Details

• Emergency department with 19 beds
• Patient ratio: 1:4
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• No floating
• Traveler is not required to serve as charge nurse
• Floor-specific orientation: 24 hours

Clinical Environment

• Common patient types include chest pain, abdominal pain, psychiatric, altered mental status, stroke, and trauma
• Approximately 100 patients per day
• Nurse aides are available
• Respiratory therapy is available 24/7
• Pharmacy is available 24/7
• Vents are managed by respiratory therapy
• Telemetry monitoring is used
• Drips include propofol, levophed, heparin, nitro, insulin, and Cardizem

Additional Notes

• Hospital-issued scrubs are currently required due to COVID-19; navy scrubs will be used when personal scrubs are allowed again
• TNCC is recommended
• Meditech is used for charting
