Hilo, Hawaii

Contract Length

26 weeks

Schedule

Variable 5–8 hour shifts, 40 hours per week
Five days per week, including weekends
Typical shift: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
No guarantee of hours or shift preference

Required Qualifications

Valid RDN - Registered Dietitian Nutritionist license in Hawaii
RDN - Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (1 year of experience)
RDN - Registered Dietitian Nutritionist experience within the last year

Key Responsibilities

Review patient assessment requests
Interview patients and perform nutrition assessments
Make nutrition recommendations
Follow up on physician consults
Provide nutrition education
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and ICU rounds
Collaborate with food service and medical staff
Correct menus and make menu changes for kitchen staff
Serve as a resource for food service management and kitchen staff regarding diets, nutrition support, and patient satisfaction

Work Setting

Based in the food and nutrition services department
Provides services across multiple hospital units, including medical, surgical/pediatric, progressive care, OB, ICU, long-term care, and psychiatric units
One day per month at a long-term care facility

Additional Notes

Must arrive the Thursday before start for an employee health appointment on Friday
Travel expenses and time for the monthly off-site assignment are the traveler’s/agency’s responsibility
Business/professional dress; lab coats optional
