Medical Laboratory Technician (Evening Shift) - Contract

Job Description

• Generalist laboratory role including phlebotomy
• No weekend work required; possible on-call if needed
• Strong proficiency in Epic required
• Preferred analyzers (not mandatory): Abbott Alinity, ACL Tops 350, Gene Expert, Beckman Coulter, Torch, Clinitek

Responsibilities

• Support and communicate laboratory initiatives and philosophies
• Collect, process, and receive specimens (blood, urine, fecal, body fluid) for analysis across all clinical laboratory departments
• Evaluate and resolve issues related to specimen collection and processing for all age groups
• Participate in evaluating new laboratory techniques and procedures, including writing and revising technical procedures
• Perform complex laboratory procedures and troubleshoot deviations from expected results using scientific principles
• Analyze quality control data and take appropriate actions to maintain accuracy and precision
• Respond to inquiries about test results, methodologies, and factors influencing results
• Monitor instrument indicators and temperature controls in laboratory departments
• Maintain self-competency in laboratory skills

Required Qualifications

• Medical Laboratory Technician with at least 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year
• Certification as CLS or ASCP
• Bachelor's degree in a related field, or Associate's degree for grandfathered personnel
• Experience with Epic
