Travel RN - Labor & Delivery

Location: Dallas, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Unit & Hospital Information

  • Unit: Labor and Delivery (High Risk Obstetrical Unit)
  • Facility Type: Women’s Hospital
  • Number of Beds: 24
  • Patient Ratios: Approximately 2:1 and 3:1
  • Unit Equipment: GE fetal monitors
  • Documentation Systems: Meditech, CPNS
  • Shift: Night shift, 7 PM – 7 AM, 3 shifts per week
  • Floating: As needed, may float to antepartum unit within Women’s services

Required Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in high risk labor and delivery care
  • High risk obstetrical bedside training
  • Experience circulating in C-section in labor and delivery area
  • Experience recovering high acuity patients

Preferred Certifications & Skills

  • Intermediate AWONN fetal monitoring certificate (preferred)

Procedures Performed on Unit

  • Vaginal deliveries
  • C-sections
  • D&C (dilation and curettage)
  • Post-delivery recovery care

Scheduling & Work Details

  • Weekend shifts required
  • Guaranteed hours: 36 to 40 hours per week

Dress Code & Appearance Guidelines

  • Scrub color requirements apply (specific colors not detailed)
  • Nails: Clean and healthy; no artificial nails, gel, or next gen nails allowed
  • Hair: Neat and clean; no extreme styles or colors; hair shoulder length or longer must be pulled back during work
  • Facial Hair: Beards, mustaches, and sideburns must be clean and neatly trimmed
  • Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible; exceptions addressed individually
  • Piercings: Only ear piercings allowed; visible piercings such as nose or tongue rings are prohibited
