Facility & Unit Overview

• Level III Trauma Center with state-of-the-art operating suites
• Services include medical, surgical, rehabilitation, childbirth, cancer, nephrology, pediatric, behavioral health, day surgery, imaging, and lab testing
• Surgical Inpatient Unit (3rd floor) with 24 beds
• Patient population: Adults aged 18-100+
• Patient ratio: 1:6 max with frequent admits and discharges
• Electronic Health Record system: Cerner
• Equipment: IV pumps, vital signs monitors

Position Details

• Role: RN / Charge Nurse
• Specialty: Ortho / Neuro Surgery, with additional float to Medical / Nephrology, Inpatient Rehab, Cardiology (lower acuity), Med/Surg, and Pediatrics (adult patients only)
• Shift: Days
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
• Weekend Requirement: At least 3 shifts per 4-week schedule
• Call: None
• Number of Openings: 1

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty (Med Surg Telemetry with ortho/neuro focus)
• BLS certification
• Experience with post-operative patient care including ortho/neurosurgical/abdominal surgeries
• Skills in managing NG tubes, chest tubes, Foley catheters, TURPs, respiratory issues, diabetic care, sepsis, alcohol withdrawal, rib fractures, altered mental status, and pain management
• Must have at least a 3.2 overall rating on skills checklist

Additional Information

• No prior travel experience required
• Float responsibilities to sister units and select other units as needed
• Must follow all facility policies and guidelines
• Strong customer service and patient experience skills preferred
