Travel RN - Psychiatric / Addiction Nurse

Location: Alamogordo, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel (Temp to Perm Preferred)
Shift: Days (7 AM - 7 PM)
Work Schedule: Full Time

Unit & Patient Population

Adult acute psychiatric patients
Current census: up to 16 patients, with plans to increase to 24-30 patients
Electronic Health Record system currently Cerner, transitioning to EPIC within 1-2 months

Job Summary

Provide routine and complex nursing care independently in a psychiatric/addiction setting
Manage clinical situations, make assignments, and delegate to other care providers
Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
Administer medications and treatments per protocol, monitor side effects and effectiveness
Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers

Requirements

Education & Licenses

Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
RN license in New Mexico or compact license
BLS certification (AHA only) required

Experience

Minimum 1 year of experience in psychiatric nursing or related specialty preferred
No explicit requirement for prior travel experience

Contract Length

Approximately 13 weeks

Additional Notes

ASAP start, no later than February 9th
Looking for experienced Psych/Addiction RNs with strong psychiatric skills to support unit growth
Temp to perm opportunity preferred
