Job Opportunity: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Travel Position

Location: Dallas, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Facility & Unit Information

• Unit: Speech Therapy
• Setting: Acute care and inpatient rehab for adults
• Number of Beds: Approximately 1000
• Staff: 8 to 10 full-time and PRN Speech Therapists
• Shifts: Day shift only (3 to 4 SLPs for adult patients), no night shift
• Patient Ratios: 8 to 12 patients depending on evaluations/treatments
• Equipment: Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) for Speech Therapy
• EMR System: Meditech

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience working with the adult population in acute care or inpatient rehab settings
• Competency in Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBS) is required
• Experience in acute care and inpatient rehab is preferred

Typical Procedures

• Dysphagia evaluations and treatment
• Cognitive evaluations and treatment
• Passy-Muir Valve (PMV) evaluations

Certifications & Licenses

• Valid Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) License
• ASHA Certification (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification
