Neuro ICU Registered Nurse

Role

Travel Registered Nurse for Neuro ICU.

Location

Wausau, Wisconsin

Schedule

• 12-hour nights: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend
• Every other holiday

Contract

• 13 weeks
• Guaranteed 48 hours per week

Float Scope

• Floats between Neuro Critical Care ICU and MSICU
• May also float to other critical care units and other inpatient units as needed

Required Qualifications

• Wisconsin RN license
• BLS
• ACLS (AHA or ARC)
• NIHSS
• 2 years of experience
• Med/Surg ICU and/or Neuro ICU background with strong assessment skills in Neuro
• EPIC experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 travel assignment preferred
• Experience as a Neuro Interventionalist
• Familiarity with EVDs and ICP monitoring

Unit Details

• 8-bed Neuro unit
• Cares for Stroke, TBI, Head injury, and Neurosurgery patients

Clinical Focus

• Neuro assessments
• Basic bedside ICU procedures, including line placement and intubation
• Bolt and drain bedside placements with Neurosurgery
• Neuro interventional patients in the future

Additional Notes

• No call or callback
• Eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours
• May be asked to work only 4 or 8 hours of a shift during low census
• Scrub color: any color
• During flu season, travelers who decline flu and COVID vaccination must wear a mask at all times
