Medical Physicist Travel Position

Location: La Crosse, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 20 weeks
Employment Type: Travel

Job Summary

• Senior Physicist role working 8-hour shifts (shift times vary, typically 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM)
• Guaranteed 40 hours per week
• Float to an additional clinic location as needed
• No on-call, call-back, or holiday rotation requirements; weekend rotation to be discussed with manager
• Collaborate with senior staff to maintain Quality Assurance programs in compliance with national standards
• Evaluate and implement new technology and techniques
• Maintain templates, checklists, and therapy equipment records in the verify system
• Provide radiation safety education to staff
• Primary procedures include VMAT, SRS, SBRT, and 3D planning

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physicist license in Wisconsin
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Medical Physicist, including experience within the last year
• American Board of Radiology (ABR) certification in Therapeutic Medical Physics or equivalent certification from the American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP) in Radiation Therapy Physics
• Master's, Doctorate, or PhD in a relevant field

Additional Information

• Candidate must provide 2 current professional references
• Must start medical portion of compliance within 48 hours of accepted offer (24 hours for quick start)
• Orientation week is not guaranteed but 8 hours of unbillable orientation is expected
• Patient ratio and weekend rotation details to be discussed with manager
