Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Schedule

• Variable 8-hour shifts
• First two weeks: 7a-3p, Monday-Friday
• Following weeks: open availability needed for 7a-3p, 3p-11p, or 7a-7p
• No graveyard shifts
• Weekends: variable
• On-call shifts are required with a variable schedule

Role Summary

• Performs duties as a member of the surgical team to support safe and successful operative procedures.
• Works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and reports to Surgical Services management.
• Prepares the operating room and instruments, maintains the sterile field, assists the surgeon during procedures within ORT I scope, and helps with room turnover and cleaning.
• May assist with sterile processing.
• Participates in training, mentoring, and unit/process improvement activities.
• May serve as a service-line specialty lead with oversight of assigned specialty areas, staffing coordination, competency validation, and orientation support.

Required Qualifications

• CVOR Technologist with 2.5 years of experience
• CVOR Technologist experience within the last year
• 1 or more years of Cardiothoracic (CV) experience
• CVOR scrubbing experience
• NBSTSA or NCCT
• BLS issued by the American Heart Association
• Completion of a surgical technology course or equivalent military training

Preferred Qualifications

• Competence in basic procedures and 2 or more specialty areas such as Ortho, Robotics, Neuro, CV, Trauma, Transplant, or Reimplants
• Proficiency in Endovascular and thoracic robot

Physical / Work Environment Requirements

• Able to lift, bend, carry, walk, push/pull gurneys and portable equipment, and stand for extended periods
• Able to navigate crowded and busy rooms
• Able to see and read labels, sterile indicator tags, colors, and patient needs
• Able to hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
• Manual dexterity for complex and delicate equipment, including computer use and typing
