Polysomno Technologist

Overview

Sleep technologist role in a sleep lab setting.
Contract length: 13 weeks.
Shift: 4-10 hour nights, rotating shifts.

Required Qualifications

1+ years of experience in a sleep lab.
Associate degree in Polysomnographic Technology or completion of a certificate program in Polysomnographic Technology.
Registered Sleep Technologist (RST), American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM), Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT), and BLS (American Heart Assoc.).

Skills and Responsibilities

Comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders, including in-center and home sleep apnea testing (HSAT).
Diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.
Patient and family education and support.
General oversight of other sleep center staff.
PAP interface fitting, desensitization, and education.
Sleep/wake stage scoring and clinical event scoring.
Equipment and physiologic calibrations.
Equipment cleaning and disinfection.
Multiple Sleep Latency Testing (MSLT) and Maintenance of Wakefulness Testing (MWT).
Ancillary testing, including oximetry and actigraphy.
Age-specific care for all populations seen in the Sleep Lab.
