Interventional Rad Specialist - Travel Position
Location

Work Schedule
- Four 10-hour shifts per week
- Rotating day off each week
- Shift hours: 07:00 AM – 05:30 PM
Job Description
- Perform routine and specialized interventional radiographic procedures as requested by licensed independent practitioners for radiologist interpretation.
- Serve as a liaison between patients, radiologists, and support team members.
- Apply scientific knowledge, technical skills, and compassionate patient care to produce diagnostic information.
- Maintain high accuracy in radiographic positioning and exposure techniques.
- Utilize and enhance knowledge of radiation safety and protection for self, patients, and others.
- Prepare, administer, and document medication activities according to state regulations and institutional policies.
- Demonstrate understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- Use critical thinking, professional and ethical judgment in all work aspects.
- Engage in continuing education to improve patient care, public education, and technical competence.
- Responsible for patient care, documentation, quality control, and quality improvement.
- Provide training, education, and mentoring to students, technologists, nursing staff, residents, fellows, and others.
- Maintain a safe and hazard-free environment.
- Check exam rooms daily for adequate stock and maintain inventory.
- Confirm patient identity with approved identifiers.
- Prepare patients appropriately for procedures, including verifying pregnancy and informed consent.
- Assess contraindications such as medication risks, patient history, lab results, and preparation status.
- Determine type and dose of contrast agent based on patient age, weight, and medical status.
- Anticipate and respond to patient needs throughout the encounter.
- Participate in quality improvement processes and continually assess professional performance.
- Prefer pediatric experience.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Texas
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, including experience within the last year
- ARRT certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Completion of a formal program in diagnostic radiology
Additional Information
- Must demonstrate excellent customer service and positive guest relations.
- Must utilize basic office equipment such as fax machines.
