Registered Nurse - Mother Baby (Night Shift)
Location: Bozeman, Montana
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Provide nursing care in a collaborative healthcare team environment.
- Responsible for patient and family education, assessment, and initiating appropriate interventions.
- Must be able to catch/transition nurse and act as Charge Nurse.
- Willingness to float to other departments as a safety companion.
- Preferred experience in Labor & Delivery (antepartum, intrapartum, preop, circulate, PACU).
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Montana.
- Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience, with experience within the last year.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- STABLE certification.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Experience in Charge Nurse roles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Labor & Delivery nursing.
- Competence and willingness to practice modified primary nursing.
Essential Job Functions
- Collect and analyze comprehensive patient data to determine diagnoses and develop individualized care plans.
- Implement and evaluate nursing care plans.
- Promote health and safety in the care environment.
- Maintain knowledge and competency reflecting current nursing practice.
- Provide leadership and contribute to professional development of peers.
- Integrate ethical standards and research findings into nursing practice.
- Comply with stroke care policies and participate in required stroke education.
Schedule & Work Requirements
- Night shift, approximately 36 hours per week.
- May require working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours.
- On-call duties may be required.
- Regular and sustained attendance is essential.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Repeated standing, walking, twisting, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching above shoulder level, pushing, and pulling.
- Occasional sitting and rare climbing.
- Continuous fine finger movements, close vision, and cognitive skills for learning and decision-making.
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, radiation, chemicals, infectious diseases, and emotionally challenging situations.
Additional Information
- Facility may cancel up to three shifts during the 13-week contract due to low census or unforeseen circumstances.
- Candidates must live at least 90 miles away from the facility to be considered.
