ICU Registered Nurse

• Dickinson, North Dakota

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Shift

• Nights, 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Active RN role
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• PALS
• TNCC, TCAR, or experience caring for trauma patients

Job Responsibilities

• Titrate drips
• Read and interpret telemetry strips
• Float to medical-surgical or emergency department for 1:1 coverage

Unit Details

• ICU with 4 beds
• Typical patient population includes DKA, sepsis, respiratory failure, cardiac rate/rhythm control, medical detox, arterial lines, and CVP monitoring
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2-3 depending on acuity
• No charge nurse assignment on each shift
• No nursing assistants or patient care techs on the unit
• Respiratory support ranges from nasal cannula to ventilator

Scheduling and Work Expectations

• Schedule is made by the director
• Works where needed on weekends and holidays
• First to float
• 3 unit-specific orientation shifts

Additional Notes

• Navy scrubs
• Facial hair may affect fit testing requirements
• RTO must be provided upfront and is limited to 7 or fewer days per 13-week contract
• Candidates may not be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and Dignity
