• Patient Care Phases: Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:2
• EMR System: Epic
• Common Cases: Orthopedics, Trauma, Cardiac, Urology, Pulmonary, Gastrointestinal
• RT Equipment Used: Ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP
• ICU Patients: Recover in PACU
• Nurse Responsibilities: Reading cardiac strips
• Floating: Required
• Call Requirements:

  • On-call 1 night every 6 weeks (weeknights, weekends, holidays)
  • Call response time: 1 hour
• Orientation: PACU and surgery center specific; week of orientation requires clinician to be in-state (modules may be remote)
• Dress Code: Hospital-provided scrubs

Required Qualifications

• Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Colorado
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (American Heart Association)
  • BLS (American Heart Association)
  • PALS (American Heart Association)
• Experience:

  • Prior experience in Emergency Department (ED) or Intensive Care Unit (ICU) required

Additional Information

• Hiring process includes profile review and interview with unit manager
• Must submit driver's license for radius verification (60 miles)
• Charge nurses assist with lunch relief but do not take patient assignments
• No nurse aides on unit, but charge nurses assist with lunch relief
• Variable start times: 7:30 AM, 8:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM, and primarily 11:00 AM start covering 11 AM to 11 PM shift
