Travel RN Opportunity – Neuro Med/Surg Unit

Unit Details

• Number of Beds: 20
• Patient Ratios: 6:1
• Staffing Support:

  • Tech support available on day and night shifts
  • Unit secretary available 7 AM – 7 PM
• Equipment Used:

  • IV Pumps, Telemetry, Sequential Compression Devices (SCDs)
  • Continuous Pulse Oximetry Machines
  • Feeding Pumps, PCA pumps
  • EKG machines, bladder scanner
  • iMobile communication technology
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling:

  • 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
  • 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule
• Floating Policy: Contract staff float first; rotation used if multiple contract staff are scheduled
• Patient Experience:

  • Emphasis on attentive and compassionate care
  • Bedside shift report required
  • Ability to build personal connections with patients and families and include them in care planning

Hospital Certifications & Recognition

• Comprehensive Stroke Center
• ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center
• Certified Chest Pain Center

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• NIH Stroke Certification

Desired Skills & Experience

• Medical/Surgical nursing experience
• Ability to prioritize care and multitask effectively
• Proficient in starting IVs and basic wound care
• Experience with maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes

Dress Code

• Navy scrubs (tops and bottoms) required

Contract Length

• 13 weeks
