Travel RN Opportunity - Asheville, North Carolina

Position Overview

• Role: Rapid Response Team Nurse (not assigned to specific patients)
• Employment Type: Travel Contract
• Contract Length: 26 weeks
• Facility Size: 815-bed hospital, Level II trauma center, includes a 97-bed children's hospital with a 51-bed Level III NICU
• Location: Asheville, NC (Blue Ridge Mountains area)

Unit Information

• Staffing: 2 core staff members per shift, 24/7 coverage
• Shift Example:

  • Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 3 RNs, 2 CNAs, 1-3 sitters
  • Night Shift: Similar staffing pattern
• Patient Ratios: Not applicable (rapid response role)
• EMR System: Cerner
• Floating: Throughout the facility as needed

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 5 years ICU experience (mandatory)
• Highly recommended: prior rapid response team experience
• Preferred backgrounds: Medical ICU or Emergency Department experience

Typical Procedures

• Cardiac arrest management, targeted temperature management (TTM), post-resuscitation care
• Trauma, stroke, and STEMI workups

Certifications & Licenses

• Required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification
  • Registered Nurse License
