Physical Therapist Travel Job - Asheville, North Carolina
Position Overview
- Specialty: Physical Therapy (PT)
- Employment Type: Travel Contract
- Location: Asheville, NC
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Facility & Unit Information
- Acute Inpatient Acute Rehab Unit
- Unit Beds: 735 (responsible for the whole house)
- Patient Ratios: 1:1
- Setting: Therapists pick up assignments in main rehab office, then treat patients unit to unit and room to room
- Patient Rooms: All single patient rooms
- Team includes PTs, PTAs, OTs, COTAs, Speech Therapists, Rehab Techs
- Equipment: Patient lifting equipment (SARA+, Stedy, Maximove), walkers, gait belts
- Documentation System: Cerner Power Chart
- Schedule: Friday through Monday, 9-10 hour shifts
- Floating Policy: None
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy
- Current North Carolina license to practice Physical Therapy
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Physical Therapy specialty (acute care experience preferred)
- Experience with a wide variety of acute care procedures, especially orthopedics, neurology, and cardiopulmonary, is helpful
- At least 1 year of acute care patient experience preferred
Job Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients in an acute care hospital setting
- Develop care plans to treat patients
- Use procedures and techniques to improve patient condition/function consistent with rehabilitation diagnosis and prognosis
- Supervise and coordinate therapeutic care
- Communicate evaluation results to patients, families, and appropriate staff
