Registered Nurse – Emergency Department

Location

• Farmington, New Mexico
• Level III Trauma Center with 48 beds (flex space available)
• Patient population includes ESRD, Cirrhosis, COPD, Psychiatric, Substance Abuse Disorders, CHF, Stroke, STEMI, Sepsis, and Moderate Sedation cases

Employment Details

• Travel assignment
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 7 PM – 7 AM
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
• Minimum of two weekends scheduled per contract
• No call requirements
• Team nursing and Pod System model
• Social worker assigned to department
• Unit educator available

Unit Profile

• Emergency Department
• Trauma Level: 3
• Patient ratios: 4:1 in Main ED, 6:1 in Fast Track
• Equipment includes Zoll Defibrillator, Level One Blood Transfuser, QinFlow Blood Warmer, Hospira Plum360, Freestyle and iSTAT point-of-care testing, Ultrasound Guided IV
• Electronic Health Record system: Cerner

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New Mexico
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience, including experience within the last year
• Required certifications from the American Heart Association: ACLS, PALS, BLS
• TNCC certification
• Experience with Trauma, Stroke, and Sepsis coordination

Skills and Experience

• Must have experience with Trauma, Stroke, STEMI, Sepsis, and Moderate Sedation
• Familiarity with common diagnoses and treatments such as ESRD, Substance Abuse Disorders, Psychological Disorders, COPD, CHF, Abdominal Pain, and Chest Pain
