Registered Nurse - Med Surg Telemetry

Location: Lake Havasu City, Arizona
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12 hour shifts
Weekly Hours: 36 hours
Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period
Call Requirements: None scheduled; possible shift flex to on-call up to twice during contract

Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients

Job Description

Work on a Med Surg Telemetry unit with a focus on telemetry patients.
Float to other units such as Intermediate Care (IMC) and Emergency Department (ED) as needed.
Patient types include total joint, surgical, acute coronary syndrome (ACS), acute on chronic conditions (CHF, CKD), alcohol withdrawal, systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS), and gastrointestinal bleeding (GIB).
Use equipment including Baxter IV pumps, Posey bed/chair alarms, Omnicell drug dispensing cabinets, and Zoll defibrillators.
Electronic Health Record system: Medhost.
Orientation provided weekly.
No block schedule requests; 48-hour shifts can be considered but are not guaranteed.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment.
Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience as a preceptor and/or charge nurse.
Compassionate, positive, and can-do attitude.

Additional Information

Dress code: Black scrubs (top and bottom).
Open shoes are not allowed.
Facility is a Joint Commission Accredited community hospital with 171 beds and Level 3 Trauma designation.
Located near outdoor recreation areas and within driving distance to major cities and national parks.
