Overview
Responsible for safe, accurate, and efficient distribution of pharmaceutical agents in a hospital setting. Duties include collaborating with physicians on drugs and dosing, educating nursing staff/patients/physicians about medications, supporting medication safety initiatives, reviewing patient profiles, reporting adverse drug reactions, mixing IV admixtures and nutritional supplements, and managing narcotic accountability.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Pharmacist license in Arizona
- 2 years of Pharmacist experience
- Pharmacist experience within the last year
- ACLS
- BLS
- Experience in an inpatient setting
- Sterile compounding experience
Preferred
- Board certification and/or an accredited pharmacy residency
Work Environment
- Hospital setting with 44 beds plus ED
- Frequent interruptions and pressure from multiple calls and inquiries
- May involve emergency care and exposure to unpredictable clinical situations
