Job Overview

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Cardiac Stepdown experience within the last year
• 1 year of Cardiac Stepdown experience
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• Experience in an inpatient setting
• Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications

• NIHSS certification

Unit Details

• 32 beds
• Typical patient ratio: 1:3–1:4
• Common equipment includes chest tubes, temporary pacemakers, and BiPAPs
• Patient population includes post-op CABG/valve, thoracotomies, respiratory failure, and chest pain

Work Expectations

• Night shift orientation occurs on day shift, and the traveler must be available for the entire orientation week
• Must be a team player and promote a positive culture
• High physical demands, including standing and walking most of the shift, lifting and turning patients with assistance, and pushing/pulling/gripping up to 50 lbs

Compliance

• Flu vaccination or approved exemption is required for travelers from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted

Dress Code

• Black scrubs with facility logo on top
• No hoodies, jackets without logo, t-shirts, open-toed shoes, earbuds, or fake nails
