Overview

• Travel assignment in Overland Park, Kansas
• 48 hours guaranteed is an option
• Unit: Emergency Dept
• Main Building
• 24 beds
• Patient ratio: 1:4
• Rare floating; only if other staff have been flexed home
• Every third weekend
• Mid-shift schedule, with shifts as early as 10:00 and as late as 01:30
• Documentation system: Meditech

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Kansas
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• ED - Emergency Department (2 years of experience)
• ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
• ACLS
• BLS
• ENPC or PALS
• TNCC
• CPI
• NIHSS
• Experience working with Level 2 Trauma patients
• Experience in an Acute Care setting
• Knowledge of STEMI care
• Knowledge of stroke care
• Knowledge of sepsis management

Preferred Qualifications

• CPI
• CEN
• TCRN

Unit Details

• Unit secretary coverage: 21 hours/day
• 5 RN core staff
• Equipment includes Level 1 fluid warmer, GE monitor system, Artic sun, Lifepak, and Alaris pumps

Clinical Focus

• Trauma care
• STEMI care
• Stroke care
• Sepsis
• Triage
• Procedures associated with a level 2 trauma center

Work Environment

• Uses AIDET and whiteboards for patient experience
• Positive attitude and “can do” culture expected

Dress Code

• Cobalt blue top
• Black or cobalt blue pants
• Solid colors
• Closed-toe shoes
