Job Details
- Position: Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Employment Type: Travel contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Location: Richmond, Virginia
- Unit: Rehabilitation Therapy
- Unit Size: 44 beds
- Patient Ratio: 4:1
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts between 7 AM and 5 PM; rotating weekends
- Hours per Week: 36
Unit and Work Environment
- Unit staffing includes 10 OT/PT teams, 3 speech therapists, and 1 tech
- Equipment used: Sara Lifts, Ceiling Lifts, Bioness, Diego
- Documentation system: Meditech Expanse
- Floating policy: May float to acute hospital if rehab census is low
- Patient experience standards include use of AIDET communication and immediate service recovery
- The hospital holds Joint Commission Stroke Certification
Required Qualifications
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in Virginia
- Occupational Therapist with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS certification
- OTR Certification
- De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting
- Joint Commission Stroke Certification
Procedures and Skills
- Manual therapy for neuro re-education
- Therapeutic exercise
- Functional activity training
- Neuromuscular re-education
- Self-care training
- Functional electrical stimulation (e-stim)
Dress Code
- Black scrub bottoms and royal blue top preferred
This position is suited for Occupational Therapists with hospital and inpatient rehab experience seeking a travel assignment in a well-equipped rehab unit with a supportive team environment.
