Employment type: Travel
Location: Wilson, NC (about 45 miles east of Raleigh)
Contract length: 13 weeks
Openings: 4
Unit: Radiology, Trauma Level 2, 294 beds
Patient population: Geriatric, adult, and pediatric

Schedule

Guaranteed hours: 40 per week for 2nd shift, 3rd shift, and M-F day shift; 36 per week for weekend days
Weekend hours: Friday through Sunday, 7a-7p
Call: Friday 5:30pm to Monday 7a every 4th weekend (applies only to 2nd shift, 3rd shift, and M-F day shift)

Required Qualifications

CT Technologist with 2 years of experience, including CT Technologist experience within the last year
CT Registered
BLS
Associate's degree
IV insertion skills
Experience with 3D imaging

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to work well independently
Strong interpersonal skills
EHR experience

Equipment

Dress Code

Scrubs in any color
Tee shirts are not acceptable without a lab coat

Pros

Doctors and most of staff are nice. Surgeries are not hard.

Cons

No staff so a lot of call. You will be on call within your first week or two, even if you don't know how to do anything. Unorganized. The director and supervisor don't know anything about the OR nor are they helpful. New staff are not properly trained. Everything falls on the OR nurse to do. They preop in house patients getting surgery. A couple of OR staff are bullies and lazy, they all think they are the boss. They tell the charge nurse what they are going to do and not going to do. Its like high school all over. Had to leave out of fear for my license.
