Ultrasound Techno II

Location

• Goldsboro, North Carolina

Contract

• 11 weeks
• Nights
• 4x10s only: Tuesday-Friday, 9pm-7am
• Friday night is the only weekend requirement

Role Summary

• Assists the radiologist with invasive diagnostic techniques such as needle biopsies, aspirations, and guided needle-wire placement exams for surgery
• Performs ultrasound procedures under general or direct supervision
• Evaluates contraindications before procedures
• Recognizes sonographic characteristics of normal and abnormal tissues, structures, and blood flow
• Analyzes sonography findings throughout the examination to complete a comprehensive exam and provide sufficient data to the physician
• Recognizes situations that require direct real-time observation by the radiologist
• Obtains Doppler signals and records images and Doppler shift recordings with patient information for radiologist interpretation
• Advises the radiologist and/or referring physician of exam results and provides preliminary diagnostic information
• Provides standardization and training to residents for these exams

Required Qualifications

• 3 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
• Ultrasound Technologist experience within the last year
• Completion of a twelve-month certificate program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or General Ultrasound or equivalent
• ARDMS registration with certification in at least one modality specific to the department of hire
• BLS issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience with vascular ultrasound
• Vascular Sonographer experience
• Experience with Epic
• Must complete all departmental-specific Sonographer competencies within 12 months of hire
• Must complete annual modality competencies and assigned continuing education to maintain Ultrasound Tech II

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous vascular experience
• Previous EPIC experience
• Previous GE E-10 equipment experience
