Job Summary

  • Provide professional nursing care to a group of patients in the Emergency Department (ED) using nursing processes, current trends, and technology.
  • Perform patient assessments, develop and implement care plans, and modify plans based on continuous evaluation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care.
  • Ensure patient and staff safety by identifying and addressing safety hazards.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with healthcare team members, patients, and families.
  • Support professional development of peers through constructive feedback.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Illinois
  • Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Experience working with Level 2 Trauma patients
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Preferred Qualifications

  • BSN degree (Bachelor of Science in Nursing)
  • Trauma 1 experience highly preferred
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification preferred

Additional Information

  • Responsible for patient and employee safety, professional communication, and maintaining a healing work environment in the ED setting.
