Job Opportunity: RN Labor and Delivery

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Under general supervision, provides nursing care to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex in a hospital setting.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; note all changes in physician orders.
• Assist physicians in patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
• Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients; observe and intervene as necessary.
• Administer medications as prescribed; initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
• Deliver competent patient care.
• Communicate care plans with patients and families during hospitalization and at discharge.
• Inform patients and families about hospital procedures.
• Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
• Delegate tasks to support staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited school of nursing.

Certifications & Licensure

• Valid RN license in Oklahoma.
• BLS (Basic Life Support).
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association.
• Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certificate.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Advanced Provider or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Instructor certification.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience.
• At least 2 years of travel nursing experience.
• Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients.
• Trauma nursing experience within the last year (minimum 1 year).
