Job Summary

A Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the care of a group of patients, focusing on safe, effective patient- and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN assists in maintaining a financially stable unit and promotes professional development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members and applies the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care to assess, develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans. The role includes mentoring and precepting staff.

Job Responsibilities

Perform assessments and reassessments according to policy or patient condition, making sound independent decisions.
Initiate, prioritize, and implement the plan of care; collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
Provide and evaluate education tailored to patient and family needs during the stay and at discharge.
Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel; serve as a mentor/preceptor.
Encourage teamwork and communicate opportunities for improvement.
Participate in quality, safety, and service improvement efforts and implement practice changes.
Comply with regulatory standards and participate in the Practice Governance model.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky
Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient and acute care experience
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Experience with Epic electronic health record system
