Clinical Nurse Manager
Location: Brooklyn, New York
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Shift: Days (6:45 AM – 3:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 40 hours
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
The Clinical Nurse Manager coordinates resident care delivery and leads the nursing team on the assigned unit. Responsibilities include developing and implementing policies and procedures, maintaining operational aspects of the unit, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities
- Uphold the mission and core values of the facility in daily practice.
- Improve organizational systems and processes continuously.
- Foster respectful and dignified interactions with residents, families, and staff.
- Support a clinical environment where nursing staff provide exceptional resident care.
- Promote staff engagement and professional practice environment.
- Establish and maintain relationships with residents and their families, ensuring effective communication and education.
- Manage staff scheduling to meet resident needs and maintain standards of care.
- Conduct regular staff meetings to disseminate information.
- Participate in policy, procedure, and regulatory compliance development and education.
- Oversee care planning, documentation, and adherence to infection control and safety protocols.
- Ensure nursing documentation meets regulatory and facility standards.
- Address unit issues promptly, including incident reporting and root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with nursing education to identify training needs and provide in-service education.
- Utilize progressive disciplinary processes to manage staff performance.
- Monitor and follow up on resident care issues, family complaints, and regulatory compliance, including state abuse reporting regulations.
- Communicate regularly with nursing leadership and administrative personnel to ensure consistent practices across shifts.
- Assess and secure necessary resources such as supplies, equipment, and environmental support.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Minimum of one year of Long Term Care nursing experience within the last year
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
- Experience in a Long Term Care setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous Nurse Manager or supervisory experience.
- Ventilator experience.
