Registered Nurse - Adult Care

Location: New York, NY
Employment Type: Community Care - Nursing
Shift: At-home care within Manhattan Borough (traveling to patients' homes; local candidates only)
Hours: Approximately 7 hours/day, 37.5 hours/week
Contract Length: 8 weeks

Job Responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
Provide direct bedside nursing care to pre- and post-surgery patients.
Prepare, administer, and document prescribed medications.
Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs.
Adjust specialized medical equipment and interpret/record measurements.
Monitor patient vitals and report adverse medication reactions promptly.
Collaborate on discharge planning with the healthcare team.
Educate patients and families on surgical procedures and post-surgery care.
Maintain and update patient files, medical charts, and health records.
Follow best nursing practices, standards, and protocols.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York with Primary Source Verification
Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
Minimum 1 year of Home Health experience, with experience within the last year
Experience in Acute Care, Post Acute, and Home Care settings
Med/Surg experience
Post-operative care experience
Telemetry monitoring experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Records (EMR)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Records (EMR).

Additional Notes

Local candidates only due to travel requirements within Manhattan.
Transportation support (Lyft rides) provided due to parking challenges in the borough.
